The tools was designed for making cities smarter every day

More than 18 thousand people from 120 countries have been in Barcelona, Spain, for the greatest global event on Smart Cities: Smart City Expo World Congress.

Diagnóstico
Diagnóstico avalia 10 aspectos: governança, tecnologia e inovação, saúde, segurança pública, energia, meio ambiente, mobilidade, urbanismo, educação e empreendedorismo.

The project of the platform which generates a roadmap that guides cities into becoming Smart Cities was created by the UNICAMP researcher and Bright Consulting CEO, Raquel Cardamone, and it was developed by Action Labs.

According to the European Union, Smart Cities are systems of people interacting and using energy, materials, services and financing in order to unleash economic development and an improvement of people’s quality of life.

These interaction flows are considered smart because they strategically use infrastructure and information and communication services. With urban planning and management, they are used to respond to social and economic needs society has.

The cities of Songdo, in South Korea, Copenhaguen, in Denmark, and Santa Ana, in the USA, are examples of Smart Cities.

Bright Cities
Action Labs lança o Bright Cities, plataforma que gera um roadmap que orienta as cidades a se tornarem Smart Cities.

According to Paulo Renato, creative director of Action Labs, the platform uses an exclusive methodology. It is based onto hundreds of indicators that are recognized by international entities such as the UN, ISO and WCCD. All these indicators together make it possible for the platform to recommend strategies, solutions and suppliers which can better adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of the cities.

“This data, in addition to the information provided by the manager into the platform, is analyzed and they determine a rating for the city. So, it is possible to compare the level of development of that city in comparison to other places, as far as 10 aspects are concerned: governance, technology and innovation, health, public safety, energy, environment, mobility, urbanism, education and entrepreneurship”, Paulo says.

“The diagnosis helps the manager evaluate the main problems and potentials of his city. The tool also offers suggestions of action and possible results the applications can bring. It is script for making cities smarter”, he observes.

Urban mobility

Paulo Renato also participated in strategic visits to places such as the monitoring center called Barcelona Supercomputing Center, CISCO, MICROSOFT and INDRA, besides the Congress on Urban Mobility which happened in parallel with Smart City.

“We are doing a work related to the analysis of future scenarios for a customer from the field of urban mobility and the congress will bring us many interesting insights”, he commented.
